Everytime we upload a large file, it fails.

Also FTP speeds are EXTREMELY slow, using both filezilla as well as windows command shell.

We are a paying customer. Please HELP !!

We are sorry to hear you are having slow upload speeds. Our data centers are operating without problems and have virtually unlimited bandwidth, so it seems there may be a slow network hop between our center and you.  You may try proFTP.drivehq.com which is reserved for paid customers. You can also try our File Manager desktop client and see if you get better results.  It can be downloaded here: http://www.drivehq.com/downloads/downloads.aspx. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I tried using proftp.drivehq.com. Still we are not able to upload using command line ftp. It fails after 100MB or so. See attached image.

Thanks

It seems your connection to DriveHQ FTP is slow and unreliable. Please note you might have a very fast local Internet connection, however, the connection speed to a particular website is determined by many other factors. Please refer this support message for more info:

The connection speed could change from time to time, so please check it at different times. Also try to contact your ISP asking them to optimize the route to ftp.drivehq.com.

For reliable uploading large files, you need to use DriveHQ FileManager or other GUI-based FTP client software that supports resuming. Command-line FTP is not recommended.

Not sure why the webmaster didn't mention this.  In case you're still having problems, if the file is over 3MB and your pushing it to DriveHQ in one lump buffer, the server will reject it.

No, that's incorrect. The FTP server does not reject files over 3MB. In fact, FTP connection is persistent, so if you upload a very large file, the data is continuously sent to the FTP server. The FTP server does not reject it.

Dependent on your connection speed, when you upload a very large file, it could appear as if the network is idle. This is because FTP protocol requires two connections (channels): the Command Connection and the Data Connection. While the data connection is busy transferring data, the command connection is idle waiting for the data connection to finish. Under certain network circumstances, this could cause the command connection to time out.

Therefore, it is always recommended using a more sophisticated FTP client, such as FileZilla to upload very large files. DriveHQ FileManager is the best option as it is seamlessly integrated with our service.
