Dear Team,

We have a paid group account and place files in DriveHQ daily. Our client, using a free DriveHQ account, accesses these files with the credentials we provided. Unfortunately, they are now encountering a limit error. Is there a way to bypass this error since they are using our credentials to extract files?

Awaiting your response.

Thank you!

If you share a folder with a free DriveHQ member, the member can access your folder in the special folder: \DriveHQShare\Your_UserName\Share_Name

The member will use your account's storage space and download bytes. So it does not matter if the member has enough storage space or not. I checked your account, everything seems to be fine. If the other member is limited, it probably is due to other reason. Please ask the user to email a screenshot to DriveHQ support directly.

We recommend creating guest accounts for sharing folders with external clients. This way, your clients don't need to sign up on DriveHQ themselves. It is more flexible and more manageable on your end. Because a guest account belongs to your group, you can easily edit, disable, delete or re-use it for another client.

You mentioned "Our client, using a free DriveHQ account", but then you also mentioned that "since they are using our credentials", it is a little confusing. If a client logs in with your login credentials, then our system will treat the client just like yourself. Please email us what limit you encountered.

We have a lot of tutorial videos. Please watch some of them.

I guess you mean the FTP/FTPS service limit? If so, you need to create a Guest Account for the client.

The FTP/SFTP feature is a business feature and requires a Business Service Plan. The lowest business service plan is the "Business Basic with 3 users". It includes one main account (the group owner account) and 3 sub-user licenses (max 1+3 = 4 accounts). If you already have a business account, then all your sub-accounts, incl. Guest accounts are also considered business accounts.

 Dear Team,

Thank you for the response.

below is the error message they received:

Error Message: com.cleo.lexicom.protocols.ftp.FtpAuthenticationException: Command 'PASS ********' and response '530 User ADLI2024 not logged in. FTP is for business users. Your account can log in 100 times, plus 10 times/day. Please upgrade on https://www.drivehq.com/! For IP cameras, please use https://www.CameraFTP.com instead; CameraFTP is a DriveHQ division and designed for IP cameras.'

Request: PASS ********

I shall create a guest account and see if its working.

will let you know if it worked or not.

Thank you!

Yes, it is caused by the FTP/SFTP service limit as explained in the error message and the reply to your previous message. If you create a guest account for the client and use the Guest Account to log in, then it will work fine as all Guest Users are considered business users if you have a business account on DriveHQ.com. ( Otherwise, your client needs to order a business subscription on DriveHQ. )
