I just signed up for the free account and am trying to upload a file from a .NET console app and I am getting the response:

"Code: 550 Message: Permission denied"

The website is showing me this error:

"Your FTP usage has exceeded the limit"

I haven't even uploaded a single file yet.

Subject: Re:Your FTP usage has exceeded the limit

The FTP/SFTP service is a paid service. You can find the information on both the FTP features page and the pricing page. If you have a free service or personal service account, you can try the FTP service for a few times. You had already exceeded the limit. If you still want to try it, you can create a sub-account and use the sub-account to log in. If using a sub-account, you can:

(1) Allocate some storage space to the sub-account so that the sub-user can store files in his own My Storage.

(2) By default, sub-users are not allocated with any storage space. So you need to share a folder with the sub-user.  Please watch this video for detailed information about our FTP/SFTP service. https://youtu.be/iGdBX4F1e-w

DriveHQ is one of the largest FTP/SFTP hosting service providers. We support standard FTP/FTPS/SFTP protocols, and our service works with almost all FTP/SFTP client programs. In addition, our FTP/SFTP service is seamlessly integrated with DriveHQ's comprehensive cloud IT services. You can use a web browser to manage your service and accounts. You can upload/download files using regular FTP/SFTP clients, web browsers, DriveHQ FileManager, cloud drive mapping, and DriveHQ's CommandFTP client, etc.
