I am new to this app but i noticed that if i minamize the app on my windows 10 laptop the little light by my camera turns off and it stops recording and same if the screen saver turns on

I guess you use CameraFTP Webcam Security Camera app. This app is a simple Windows Store app. Indeed it will be paused by the operating system when it is minimized. If you want to use this app, please make sure it is not minimized and the screen saver is turned off. 

We have another desktop program that usually works much better. It is CameraFTP VIrtual Security System (VSS) software. It supports multiple webcams and IP cameras. Because it is a full-blown desktop program, it is a lot more powerful. We recommend using VSS.
