Cool. I was not sure if TP-Link Tapo cameras can upload footage/video to CameraFTP cloud directly. If your information is correct, then you don't have to use VSS software. You can stop/delete the cam

More...CameraFTP VSS software supports P2P-based Live Viewing. In this case, a viewer app can directly connect to the VSS software and view the live camera. It is near real-time with almost no latency. The P2P-based live view and 2-way video & audio calling feature is supported if you use CameraFTP's VSS software, Mobile Security Camera app or Webcam Security Camera app.
CameraFTP also supports Regular Live Viewing. In this case, the video footage is uploaded to the CameraFTP cloud first; then the viewer app can download the footage from the cloud and play it live. This feature is supported for all camera types, incl. regular IP cameras or NVRs. Since the footage must be uploaded to the cloud first, there is a latency of about 1-2 minutes.
The first method usually offers better viewing quality, but the second method is more scalable as the video is streamed from CameraFTP's cloud servers. It can support far more concurrent viewers.
If you publish a camera and embed it in your own web pages, then you must use the second method.
-------------------------
If you use a webcam as an IP security camera, or use CameraFTP's Mobile Security Camera app for iOS/Android, then you can use the 2-way live video and audio viewing/calling feature.
Unlike the video-calling feature offered by other cloud services, CameraFTP's video calling feature is designed for businesses to "link" multiple office locations (in addition to Cloud Recording, IP camera backup and Monitoring services). For example, you can use VSS in a branch office, and use CameraFTP Viewer app in the main office. The viewer app can connect to the VSS software. This way, it can establish a persistent video calling session.
It can also be used for monitoring an elderly person who lives alone. Dependent on your security settings, you can establish a persistent video call without a person accepting the call. (Note: The viewer app and the virtual camera app use the same account to log in, which is very different from a regular phone/video call.)
