I have tested all of these free applications. They are all high-quality. (However, always do a virus scan!)
I have used them on both Windows XP and Vista. My old machine was an XP but then a power surge fried the RAM, so the rent-to-own place gave me my current Vista machine.
Some software has both stable and beta versions. If you want to use the latest features and don't mind bugs or crashes, use the beta version. Otherwise, use the latest stable version.
