Reflection #5

Whew! Finally done with my final site. I am going to keep working on it for my employee program at work. For my project, I had to try to model my site after what already exists for the Library, so that I might later include it in our official site. By doing so, though, I ran into a lot of problems with trying to control the size of tables and cells - specifically the height, not the width. I also had issues with matching up borders versus colored cells.

Looking back to the first of the class, I think it would have helped me grasp the initial concepts of Dreamweaver if we had not worried about logging in and connecting to the UT server right from the first class. Maybe consider feeling our way around the software first on a local level, then try to upload something.

In terms of graduate school, I am still waivering back and forth between IT and IS. Because I have worked in the UT Library for 20 years, I hope that I can get a Masters in IS with a strong concentration in digital media. Most of the Studio folks at the Library actually have fine arts and graphic arts backgrounds, though.

Bio: long-term staff member at UT Library, reluctantly working towards joining those "professionals".
