Digital Production Services (DPS) serves as a vital support service to the library. During operating hours, instructors may consult with DPS staff in Room 170 (the former Duplication Room) about creating and maintaining reserve lists for their courses. After hours, instructors may drop lists off at the Second Floor Circulation Desk. DPS staff will retrieve those the next business day for processing. Digital Production also maintains all copiers in Hodges and the branches as well as supports and assists Library Express and Interlibrary Loan with their daily requests. As part of the 2005 reorganization, DPS was created from the combined staffs of the former Reserve and Duplication departments. Staff reallocation consisted of moving the Reserve day-shift staff and the Reserve processing to DPS, and moving the Reserve night-shift staff and the circulation functions to the Circulation Desk. Most of the student assistant budget from ILS Lending was reallocated to Library Express and DPS. |
