Interlibrary Services (ILS) serves two main functions: to locate and deliver materials not available at the University Libraries for UT faculty, staff and students (borrowing side); and to locate and deliver UT materials for users from other institutions (lending side). For the purpose of this website, we discuss the functions of the lending side of ILS only. After the reorganization of 2005, these functions are now intertwined with Digital Production Services and Library Express. The total annual volume of ILS Lending requests is over 55,000 (over half of which are for articles). The various online and software systems that ILS uses to receive and deliver requests undergo frequent changes and upgrades. |
